Definition

  • according to Hottinger (2006):

RETROVERT FORAMEN is a second, primary foramen located at the base of the marginal chamber suture, opening in a proximal direction and giving rise to orbitoidal growth after a spiral nepionic stage or to multiple spirals. Compare: supplementary apertures.
