Definition

  • according to Hottinger (2006):

GAMONT - a specimen producing gametes in the process of reproduction irrespective of its involvment in meiosis (diploid gamonts) or not (haploid gamonts). Foraminiferal gamonts, produced by asexual reproduction are megalospheric (A - form).
