Definition

  • according to Hottinger (2006):

SEALING PLATE (sealing-off plate; cover plate, pars auct.) is a thin plate, secondarily plugging the opening in an umbilical plate which - primarily - provides communication between a main chamber lumen and a foliar chamberlet. Never present in the ultimate chamber. Compare: cover plate.
