Definition

  • according to Hottinger (2006):

RADIATE APERTURE is a single aperture, in terminal or margino-terminal position with radially directed, slitlike or pointed extensions. The margins of radial apertures may fuse and thereby subdivide the aperture, as in many nodosariaceans.
